Following reports that Nacer Chadli could leave West Brom for £17m after the Baggies’ relegation to the Championship, we were expecting a few rumours to surface.

Even though the midfielder didn’t really have a chance to play last season due to numerous injuries, the versatile Belgian managed to earn spot in his country’s national team for the World Cup thanks to some good performances in the qualifiers.

There’s no denying that an impressive tournament in Russia could do wonders for his future, but, for now, the West Brom player isn’t thinking about his club career.

Speaking in a press conference, relayed by RTBF, he said: “I’m not talking about transfers for now. I’m focusing on preparation and I’m letting my agent work.”

However, Chadli did drop a hint he could look for a way to avoid playing in the Championship next season by mentioning a number of leagues he wouldn’t mind featuring in.

He continued: “I like the English league, but those in Spain and Germany are good too.”

So, La Liga, Bundesliga or a stay in the Premier League for Nacer Chadli. Noted.

After all, you don’t talk just blurt out your favourite leagues in public if you intend on staying put.

The 28-year-old featured just six times for West Brom last season, scoring one goal.
