With both Callum Robinson and Karlan Grant scoring in the first two games of the Championship, it remains to be seen whether West Bromwich Albion need a new striker before the end of the transfer window.
Despite that, however, they are being linked with one alongside Fulham, as Gazzetta dello Sport claim both the Baggies and the Cottagers are ‘monitoring the situation’ surrounding M’Bala Nzola.
The 25-year-old striker currently plays for Spezia in Serie A, for whom he scored 11 goals in 25 games last season, as well as picking up three assists, and has drawn interest from a number of clubs both in Italy and abroad.
Closer to home, it’s Udinese and Cagliari who are providing competition for West Brom and Fulham for a player who ‘doesn’t appear to be in the plans of Thiago Motta’.
That’s why the Angola international is ‘up for sale’ this summer, with Spezia looking for a fee of around €5-6m to fill their coffers.
That is an amount ‘English clubs of a certain prestige like West Brom and Fulham won’t have a problem reaching’.
We’ll have to see about that.
