West Bromwich Albion are waiting for a response from Juventus as they continue to try and sign Joseph Nonge Boende.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who report that West Brom remain keen on the midfielder but are starting to believe the negotiations are stagnating.
Reports have linked West Brom with a move for the 19-year-old, who does not appear to be a part of Juventus’ plans for the time being.
Tavolieri reported earlier this week that they were holding direct contact with the Italian side over the player, offering a loan deal without an option to buy.
He reported at the time that Boende had spoken to West Brom coach Carlos Corberán about the move and was keen on it. Thus, personal terms were not expected to be an issue.
There was confidence the deal could be done but Tavolieri now reports that Boende appears to be focusing on ‘other priorities.’
West Brom still want the player but there’s now a feeling at the Hawthorns that the matter is ‘stagnating’, and a deal is more unlikely than it was three days ago.
Whether that means they now turn their attention elsewhere or make another push to convince the player remains to be seen but it seems that early positivity is now dying down.
