Mustafi

Arsenal are looking to sign a central defender given Per Mertesacker is expected to be out for a few months due to an injury.

Reports suggest Arsenal are keen on signing Valencia’s Skhodran Mustafi, and have already contacted his representatives.

There seems to be a conflict on his transfer fee. Sky Germany believe Arsenal could offer €30m + €10m in bonuses, whilst Valencia Extra reckon the Spanish club want €25m for Mustafi.

According to Marca on Saturday, Arsenal are willing to make a good deal for Mustafi, and are ready to put €30m on the table.

The German international yesterday arrived in Valencia, and is expected to start pre-season training alone from today.

Mustafi will travel to London on Sunday to join his rest of the teammates for pre-season training, which is rather handy for Arsenal.

Valencia still need to sell another player to avoid Financial Fair Play fines, and could be willing to strike a deal.

It is reported Mustafi has a release clause of €50m in his contract, and it’s highly unlikely Arsenal would want to pay that amount to sign the player.
