It was only a matter of time before Alvaro Morata was once again linked with Arsenal, and El Confidencial do the honours on Wednesday.
It’s claimed Morata has told those close to him, rather dramatically: “I do not want to die of disgust on the bench.”
He’s also asked his agent to rush a sale through, and the Premier League is the likeliest destination. Unfortunately for Morata, nobody has yet been willing to pay Real Madrid’s €70m asking price.
Arsene Wenger is said to be ‘really dazzled’ by the Spaniard, but he and Arsenal have shown no intention they’ll go anywhere near the €70m.
There’s still a little hope, because El Confidencial say that it’s felt in the market that Wenger and Arsenal will simply be forced to spend big before the end of the window.
