Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville has told NOS that he wants to focus on the European championship with the Netherlands U21 and any decision on his future would be made after the tournament.

Earlier this month, 1908.nl stated Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is trying to convince the winger to return to the club and has already held talks with him.

Two days ago, the same outlet reported the 21-year-old has informed Leeds about his desire to leave Elland Road in this window, after their relegation from the Premier League. Recent claims in the UK have also named Everton as one of his suitors.

The Dutchman admitted he’s aware of these links but his immediate focus lies elsewhere.

“I see and read some things here and there, but I focus on this tournament. I also deliberately asked my agent not to give me that information until after the European championship. We can take a prize, we’ll see the rest later,” he said.

Having arrived at Leeds in 2020, the attacker had to wait until last season to feature regularly for the English club. He scored five goals and registered six assists from 33 games.

“I used to play FIFA with the guys I played against in England. I enjoyed every game.  And I really love Leeds, where I came in as an 18-year-old,” Summerville explained.

Despite Leeds’ struggles, a highlight from last season for the player was the late winner he scored against Liverpool at Anfield.

“That moment will stay with me forever. A few hours after that goal I turned 21: that was the best birthday I could wish for. I hope we return to the Premier League as soon as possible,” he added.
