Dejan Lovren has been at Liverpool since 2014 and for much of that time he’s had a cloud of doubt hanging over his head.
It’s not that Liverpool fans don’t like him, it’s just that he’s got a knack of making some of the club’s following extremely nervous, and once a few mistakes had been highlighted that then became the theme of his Anfield career.
That said, there’s no doubt he’s been an important player over that period and has certainly contributed everything he can.
Lovren isn’t shy when it comes to speaking of himself as one of the best around, and it may be expected that if what lies ahead is more time on the Liverpool bench then he’ll look for an exit.
That’s been talked up this week, with claims of interest from Serie A clubs.
CalcioNapoli24 have picked up some comments Vincenzo Cavaliere has given to Italian radio.
The agent represents Andrej Kramaric, but he was still asked about a potential Lovren move anyway, to which he replied: “Lovren is a national team player and at Liverpool he’s doing very well.
“A transfer to Napoli can be there, it’s very difficult but Napoli is a great club and challenges are always seen very well by the players. Would he accept the Napoli idea? We’ll see, also because he has always played in England.”
He then added, for reasons we’re not quite sure of, the following: “Lovren’s dad is my neighbour, and I meet him often.”
Maybe the neighbourly chat could soon change to a potential transfer for the Liverpool player.
