As soon as it was officially announced by Roman Abramovich via a statement on the club’s website that Chelsea were up for sale, many names were thrown around as potential buyers.
However, one particular businessman, Turkish mogul Muhsin Bayrak, claims to be ahead of the lot, and is confident that the Blues will be his sooner rather than later.
Speaking to Yeni Şafak in Turkey, the Chairman of the Board of AB Group Holding, made the situation very clear.
He said: “We are negotiating the terms of the purchase of Chelsea with Roman Abramovich’s lawyers. We are in the negotiation phase of the signatures. We’ll fly the Turkish flag in London soon.”
If that wasn’t enough, he gave a bit more information about the purchasing process of Chelsea Football Club in a statement.
It’s said that his lawyers ‘have been in touch since the first day Chelsea entered the sales process’ with those of Roman Abramovich, and that now, ‘the negotiations process has come to an end’, meaning they ‘are planning to sign soon’.
The article from Yeni Safak doesn’t contain any amounts, so we aren’t sure how much money would be exchanging hands, but we’re sure that will come to light sooner or later if the deal does indeed go through.
