Valencia manager Jose Bordalas has insisted that Tottenham youngster Bryan Gil ‘would be welcome’ to continue at the club beyond his current loan deal.
Gil joined the Spanish club on loan until the end of the season in January, having struggled in London following a move from Sevilla in the summer.
It was made he was not a part of Antonio Conte’s plans for the time being, thus the club elected to send him out on loan for the regular playing he needs to continue his development.
He’s found that with Valencia, establishing himself as a key player under Bordalas with a series of impressive performances.
He’s quickly become a fan favourite as a result, with fans inside the Mestalla this week signing for him to stay at the club beyond the summer.
The possibility of that happening will depend on Tottenham, who refused to allow a purchase clause to be included in the initial loan deal.
They have indicated that Gil remains a part of their long-term plans, but if that were to change, Bordalas would be more than happy to welcome the Tottenham man back.
“They (Gil and Hugo Duro) are two players who have arrived and are giving us a lot,” El Mercantil Valenciano report him saying.
“Right now, we are focused on the current season, and we don’t think beyond the day to day.
“We know the difficulty, and we know that it will be more difficult with Bryan because he doesn’t have an option to buy. With Hugo, there is. Undoubtedly they would be welcome to continue.”
