David de Gea has been the first-choice goalkeeper for Manchester United for most of his time at Old Trafford.
The Spain international joined the Red Devils from Atlético Madrid in 2011. He has played under several managers for the Premier League side and all of them have picked him between the posts.
His contract expires in 2023 and Manchester United have an option to extend it by a year. If Erik ten Hag’s side decide not to extend it beyond this season, then De Gea can join another club as a free agent next summer.
At the moment, De Gea is not thinking about making a move away from the club, if comments made by his wife, Edurne García Almagro, are to be believed.
Socialité had a chance to interview the singer and she was specially asked whether it is hard for her to live away from the Manchester United star. Edurne was also quizzed whether the custodian wants to sign for a Spanish club.
Responding to that, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Edurne said: “We’ve been like this for many years. So, we get along very well. I’m happy with my work here in Spain. He is in Manchester. We travel. So, for the moment, we continue like this, that we are very well. And we will see in the future.”
