On September 3rd, Sport reported Watford are ‘very interested’ in signing Barcelona’s Oriol Busquets.
It was also explained the Championship side have held talks with the La Liga giants.
The Hornets’ interest in the 21-year-old is now backed up by today’s edition of Mundo Deportivo.
Barca are looking to trim their squad and lower their wage bill for the new season.
It’s claimed the Catalan club may have in excess of 10 players who could leave the club this summer, and Busquets’ name is included in the list.
Mundo’s short report states there has been talk about Watford, Sassuolo and Borussia Mönchengladbach as potential suitors for the defensive midfielder.
The newspaper further explains the English would be studying to take the player on a loan deal with a low purchase option.
However, there would be no assurances for Busquets to be a regular in Vladimir Ivić’s starting XI at Vicarage Road.
Mundo add Busquets is handling various offers, but has not made a final decision on where he will play during the 2020/21 campaign.
He spent last season on loan at FC Twente, making 23 appearances in all competitions for the Dutch club.
