News from Colombia today suggest that the Watford fullback Camilo Zuniga is very close on a return to his first club Atletico Nacional.

As reported before, the player has spent the past few months treating his knee injury in his home country, using his former club as a place to train during his recovery.

Now Gol Caracol claims that according to ‘unofficial sources’, the paperwork is being done for the 32-year-old to make the move, and the announcement of the transfer should be made soon, since ‘everything is ready’ between Watford and Atletico Nacional.

It’s reported the move will be made official in the ‘next few hours’.

Many people may think that Zuniga is not a Watford player anymore, since several media outlets reported he would be returning to Napoli at the end of his loan spell last summer.

But in an interview a few months ago, the player himself revealed that he still belongs to the Hornets, which caught everyone by surprise. He said he still had one year of contract there, as there was an automatic buying clause at the end of his loan.

Gol Caracol doesn’t say if there will be a fee for the transfer, but considering Zuniga’s situation, it’s very likely that he will move on a free.
