There are times when it appears a player is heading for the exit and the whole affair looks like a foregone conclusion.
That seemed to be the case for Dimitri Foulquier at Watford. The defender joined the Hornets back in 2017 but has spent the last two seasons on loan at Strasbourg and Getafe.
He’s yet to make an appearance for Watford, and we covered various reports this summer that stated the latter were trying to bring him back.
It was stated they were ‘expecting’ him to return at some point, although Watford were not making things easy. Now it seems they won’t let it happen at all.
Marca report today the Hornets have told Foulquier they are counting on him this season and they will not be letting him depart at any point.
They’ve made it clear they will ‘make an exit difficult’ for the 26-year-old, and that’s seemingly resonated with Getafe, who have now turned their attention elsewhere.
