According to a claim in the Turkish media, Watford are looking to sign Besiktas goalkeeper Ersin Destanoğlu in this transfer window.

The 24-year-old has struggled to get games with the Super Lig giants this season and could look to move on before the transfer deadline.

Hurriyet report on Watford’s pursuit for the former Turkey U21 international and they say the Championship side have come in with an offer for the keeper.

It’s claimed the Hornets want to loan Destanoğlu for the remainder of the season and that they want a compulsory agreement to sign him in the summer. The transfer fee offered to retain his services on a permanent basis is reportedly €1.5m.

The Turkish media outlet report Watford and Besiktas will continue to hold transfer talks as both clubs look to come to an agreement over the player. The length of contract the English side are willing to offer Destanoğlu hasn’t been disclosed.

Destanoğlu has made just one appearance in the Super Lig this season, but has also been involved in two of Besiktas’ Europa League group matches. He’s contracted to the Black Eagles until June 2026.
