Earlier this week, we saw Catalan outlet Sport reporting Watford’s effort to sign Barcelona striker Rey Manaj.
It was claimed a deal could be done in ‘coming days’, with the 25-year-old moving to Vicarage Road with no transfer fee attached, and Barça only keeping the percentage of a future transfer.
Now it’s Mundo Deportivo who comes with a more detailed story on this move, claiming Barcelona and Watford are currently negotiating the transfer.
It’s said Manaj has given ‘the go ahead’ for the move to the Hornets, who are confident taht the final ‘yes’ for the full agreement ‘will not take long’, and should happen in ‘three days at most’.
There are still some details to be sorted, such as the formula this transfer is being done.
It’s possible the striker is moving on a loan, and since this is the final year of his contract with Barcelona, he’d then become a free agent.
However, Watford are also considering paying for a transfer, which would allow them to agree a longer contract with him, and the Catalan side would be happy to take that as well.
Manaj is said to be ‘excited’ with the chance of playing for the Hornets in their quest for a comeback to the Premier League, and it’s a matter of a deal between clubs now.
