Watford are set to pocket around €500,000 from Granada, courtesy of Dimitri Foulquier’s impending move to Valencia.

That’s according to IDEAL, who say the Premier League side have a 20% clause they will be cashing in on, thanks to the move.

Foulquier is set to join Valencia over the weekend, with the two clubs having finalised a deal worth between €2.5m and €3m, with another €500,000 to €1m in bonuses, and the player waiting to sign a deal until June 2025.

He already travelled on Thursday to undergo his medical today and has spoken to journalists about the move, indicating it will be finalised at some point.

That will come as good news for Watford, who are set to earn 20% of the deal, so a tasty €500,000 if it is the lower figure or €600,000 for the latter.

They sold Foulquier to Granada for €2m last summer after making it clear he was not a part of their plans.

That had been pretty much clear since he arrived from the Spanish club for €2m back in 2017, with him spending the intervening years out on loan.

Indeed, he would only make five appearances for Watford in total, so them making their money back and then a little on top courtesy of this deal could be considered a tidy piece of business from them, really.
