Watford scouts were present in the stands to watch the Serie B game between Ascoli and Latina Calcio, reports Sky Italia (via Calciomercato).
It’s been reported Watford scouts were particularly interested in young Italian forward Riccardo Orsolini.
The 19-year-old has three goals and two assists to his name in 16 league appearances, but several Serie A clubs are said to be interested in signing him.
Orsolini registered a goal and assist against Latina Calcio, and scouts from Juventus were also in the attendance to watch him. AS Roma and Inter are also reportedly interested in Orsolini, and Watford might have some competition to beat.
The presence of scouts from Watford in a Serie B match isn’t really surprising considering they have Italian owners always looking for the next talent, and are managed by Walter Mazzarri.
It’s been reported it’d be a little difficult for any club to sign Orsolini in January, but Serie A giants Juventus are already making their move.
