Samsunspor’s Marc Bola will make a move to Watford this summer, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.

He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide a short report on progress made by the Hornets to sign the left-back.

Aouna reports an ‘agreement reached’ the 27-year-old and Watford for him to move to Vicarage Road.

He adds the Englishman will sign a contract until 2027, with an option for another year. That’s all the journalist has to say about the Championship club’s pursuit of Bola.

His contract at the Turkish club expires at the end of this month and they have an option to extend it until 2026.

Samsunspor won’t take up this option because they have confirmed on Thursday that the defender will leave as a free agent. This allows Paulo Pezzolano’s side to sign the fullback on a free transfer.

The former Middlesbrough man played 33 games in all competitions for Samsunspor this season.

Bola graduated from Arsenal’s academy and spent his playing career in the UK with Notts County, Bristol Rovers, Blackpool and Boro before moving to Turkey. Watford have agreed to bring him back to the UK.
