Watford defender Sebastian Prodl has told the Austrian media he isn’t the one responsible for his lack of games with the club.
The Austria international has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League this season.
Speaking to Sporx, the Watford player was asked about his situation under Javi Gracia: “I do not feel that it’s up to me, because it’s about the personal preference of the coach. I would be a little more annoyed with the situation if I felt I was the main person responsible.”
Since joining Watford in 2015, Prodl has been a regular in the team, but this season he’s been snubbed by Gracia. The 31 year old started the campaign as an unused substitute, but in recent weeks he’s not even made the match day squad.
Prodl did get 90 minutes in the 2-0 loss to Reading in the EFL Cup.
The central defender has been quite vocal with the Austrian press since joining up with the national team and earlier this week he said he was still concentrating on international success regardless of his Watford troubles.
Austria face Northern Ireland tomorrow night followed by Denmark next week.
