Journalist Jorge Nicola listed on his Youtube channel this weekend 23 players who are becoming free agents and could be realistic signings for Brazilian clubs in the summer window.
One of these footballers is Heurelho Gomes, whose contract with Watford expires at the end of the season.
Jorge Nicola claims that there’s a big chance for the goalkeeper to retire once his deal runs out. However, in case he receives an interesting proposal from Brazil, then he could change his mind and go back to his home country.
Gomes’ plan was to retire last year, as revealed by himself in interviews at the time. But he ended up finding an agreement with the Hornets to play for one more season.
The 39-year-old couldn’t get any Premier League or FA Cup minutes this season, and has only played three matches in the EFL Cup
Since Watford were knocked out of both cups, perhaps Gomes won’t have a last chance to feature for the club, unless he gets a farewell match in the Premier League.
