The biggest story in French football right is easily PSG welcoming Liverpool for a crucial Champions League match this week.
The Ligue 1 side are in danger of dropping out of the competition at the group stage, and considering they’re meant to be making progress, and have invested to do so, going backwards will lead to all kinds of drama.
Injuries to Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have added to the hype around the match and whilst both trained on Monday, and have a chance of featuring, there’s question marks around how fit they’ll really be.
There’s endless articles on the match, and RMC have taken the time to speak to Etienne Capoue. The midfielder played for Watford at the weekend as Jurgen Klopp’s side won 3-0.
Watford had kept it goalless until Mohamed Salah scored in the 67th minute, and Capoue believes their tactics were good.
“To control the middle, we had two battlers and a number 10, in the same set-up as them,” Capoue explained. “We were in one against one and when they came, we did not move. It hurt them, they were trying to get us moving. So they did everything to play wide. At one point, they were able to get through and that’s when they scored. But they were really annoyed because they thought we would move in the middle.”
The Hornets player has warned PSG that Liverpool will relish an open game, and should Thomas Tuchel’s side attack, they’ll simply wait to send their own front three on the counter.
