Watford signed Pervis Estupiñán from Ecuadorian side LDU Quito in 2016 and he’s been out on loan since then. The left-back is currently on loan at Osasuna.

EXPRESO from Ecuador states Manchester United are watching the 22-year-old.

He has enjoyed a good season in La Liga and that has resulted in the Red Devils following the player in Spain. EXPRESO state the Red Devils can imagine him wearing their shirt one day.

As well as United, the defender has also become a ‘object of desire’ for clubs in Spain and Italy.

It’s claimed Atlético Madrid have gone ahead in the race to sign him and Diego Simeone has plans for the defender. However, they will have to battle it out with Manchester United and unnamed Italian clubs.

Watford have an option to cut short Estupiñán’s loan deal with Osasuna and should they exercise it, they can then directly negotiate with those clubs interested in acquiring his services.

With several clubs maintaining an active interest in the fullback, EXPRESO believe he could join one of the big European clubs.

It’s unclear whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will make an approach for Estupiñán because they already have that position covered with a presence of Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams.

Antonio Valencia gets a mention in the article, and it could be a case of the Ecuador media getting a little over excited about having another Ecuadorian at Manchester United.
