Watford goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg has told the Swedish media he’s feeling fine after picking up a head injury whilst training with the Premier League club last weekend.

The youngster joined the Hornets in the last transfer window from IFK Goteborg but is still waiting to make his competitive debut.

Speaking to Expressen, Dahlberg confirmed he’s had stitches and expects to be back soon: “I got a knee in my forehead in training. But I’m fine. We sewed it yesterday so now it just needs to heal, then I can train again.”

Dahlberg signed for Watford on a five and half year deal during the last winter transfer window but was loaned back to Goteborg for the remainder of last season.

It was expected in the Swedish media that Dahlberg would be in contention for the Watford No.1 jersey this season, which hasn’t been the case.

With the Premier League side signing Ben Foster from West Bromwich Albion during the last window, Dahlberg hasn’t even been selected in Javi Gracia’s match day squads.

However, with the length of contract the 19 year old signed last January it seems he’s in the long term plans for Watford and a possible successor to Foster.
