After signing Dimitri Foulquier from Granada in 2017, Watford immediately allowed the defender to go out on loan to RC Strasbourg.
Last summer, Javi Gracia sanctioned another loan for the 26-year-old, this time to Getafe.
At the La Liga outfit, manager José Bordalás moved him from right-back to right midfield and that has allowed him to contribute with three goals and an assist in 22 league appearances.
Foulquier, who has enjoyed a good campaign with the Spanish club, gave an interview to French outlet Foot Mercato.
During the course of a lengthy chat, the versatile player was asked if he wishes to continue with Getafe beyond this term.
“I’m happy to live such a season, I enjoy, I’m thoroughly with the team. We will see what will happen,” Foulquier said.
“At the end of May, we’ll have plenty of time to talk about next season, whether it’s signing for Getafe, staying at Watford, etc. We’ll have time to talk about it. Frankly, I do not want to go back on this topic because the best is to focus on this exciting end of the season.”
After 32 matches, Getafe are fifth in the league with 51 points, trailing fourth placed Sevilla by one point, and two points ahead of sixth placed Valencia.
They are in contention for a berth in the next season’s Champions League and Foulquier may have a role to play in helping Getafe finish the season on a positive note.
