Bodø/Glimt forward Philip Zinckernagel is set to sign for Watford after undergoing a medical today.

That’s according to Nettavisen, who say the player has turned down offers from elsewhere to make the move to Vicarage Road.

They report that Zinckernagel is out of contract come January and so is free to move to a new club without a transfer fee.

He has offers from several clubs, including Røde Stjerne and Turkish giants Fenerbahce, but has turned down both of those clubs to make the move to Watford.

According to Nettavisen’s sources, the Dane is undergoing a medical today, with only ‘formalities’ remaining before he finalises his move to Watford.

They explain that the Hornets have ‘won the battle’ for the 26-year-old’s signature with his team, led by super-agent Pini Zahavi, having ‘landed a deal’ on Monday.

Zinckernagel ‘left for London’ last night to complete the final details on his move before joining the Championship side, who are currently fifth in the table and six-point behind leaders Norwich.

The forward joins the Hornets after an impressive two years with Bodø/Glimt, where he has managed 35 goals and 36 assists in 89 games.
