Spanish side Osasuna are eyeing up a move for Watford duo Cucho Hernández and Pervis Estupiñán following the Hornets’ relegation to the Championship.
The now ex-Premier League club are expected to undergo an overhaul of their playing squad this summer following the drop, with the club’s management keen to focus on youth.
Several of the club’s players also aren’t keen on playing in the English second flight, and so a whole host of departures are expected from Vicarage Road this summer.
The club will also have to make a decision on several of the players they currently have out on loan, with the likes of Hernández, Estupiñán and Luis Suárez all in the spotlight.
There’s every chance that those three could all remain in Spain, where they have been spending the season on loan, and Osasuna are keen to take at least two of them.
Diario de Navarra report that the club’s managers have Hernández on their of potential targets this summer as they look to ‘reinforce’ their forward line this summer.
They may be able to convince the striker, who has spent the campaign with Mallorca, too as he has made it clear he doesn’t want to play in the Championship with Watford.
The Spanish side are also keen on keeping Estupiñán beyond this summer, with the left-back having starred for the club this season and earned himself attention and praise from around Europe.
At the moment that is ‘impossible’, but the club are ‘attentive’ to the situation and whether they can do a deal with Watford to bring him back to the club.
Estupiñán, like Hernández, has made it clear he doesn’t want to play in the Championship, so both players are likely to be the subject of plenty of attention and transfer rumours in the coming weeks.
