AS Monaco fringe forward Guido Carrillo has been linked with a move to Watford in recent days, as Marco Silva looks to improve his attacking options before the window closes.
According to TMW, Watford have submitted a bid for the 26 year old, but this has been rejected by Monaco.
The Ligue 1 side are looking for an offer in the region of €12m from the Premier League side, and Watford didn’t reach this.
Monaco have seen several players leave this summer for massive transfer fees, and aren’t under pressure to sell Carrillo below their asking price. The player is contracted until June 2020 and could be a useful squad member this season if other players leave the club.
It’s been reported Carrillo’s agent Nicolas Rognoni hopes to resolve his client’s future in the coming days, and Watford may need to act quickly to sign the player.
Clubs from Germany and Turkey are said to be showing concrete interest in Carrillo, and will provide Watford with stiff competition in the race to sign the attacker.
