Real Betis may make a move for Watford defender Marc Navarro this summer as they hunt a new right-back for their squad.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the La Liga side have identified the Hornets man as a possible target.
It’s explained that Betis need two players for their right-hand side but they are ‘debating’ whether to sign a promising youngster or an established player to add competition now.
If it is the latter, it would be ‘better’ if it was a player who has experience of playing in Spain and that’s where Navarro comes in.
The Watford man’s name has been suggested by the clubs scouts, who have ‘already passed reports’ to those in charge of transfers.
The 24-year-old is currently on loan at Leganés from Watford but has only made six appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Nonetheless, he is on the shortlist of potential targets with his experience in Spanish football, where he has played for Espanyol, likely in his favour.
Whether Watford would be open to selling isn’t mentioned, although it seems unlikely they would be resistant given Navarro has only managed five appearances for the club since signing in 2018.
