It seems Watford have pulled out of the race for Benfica winger Andre Carrillo.
The Hornets were said to be close to getting the player on a loan deal, but as reported by A Bola, the club are no longer in contention.
The Portuguese newspaper actually takes claims from the Stoke Sentinel to mention the Premier League clubs who still have a chance to land the Peruvian international. Crystal Palace, Huddersfield Town and Stoke City would all be interested.
They then say that Newcastle and Watford had also been linked to him, and when specifically speaking of Marco Silva’s side, they reveal the interest has gone cold.
The Lisbon media previously reports Watford weren’t keen on paying the €15m demanded for the player right now, and Benfica would be fine in loaning him out with an option to buy at the end of the season.
But it seems the clubs didn’t reach an agreement.
