Watford youngster Kwadwo Baah is looking likely to have his loan spell at Fortuna Düsseldorf cut short.
That’s according to Rheinische Post, who say the winger is ‘considering an early departure’ from the German club.
He joined them on loan from Watford in the summer in search of regular playing time, that wasn’t on offer at Vicarage Road.
Baah has managed six appearances for them so far in the 2. Bundesliga but is yet to feature in the starting eleven and has participated in just 6% of the available minutes in the league.
Rheinische Post report that ‘scepticism’ is also brewing at the club, who are less than happy with how the loan deal has been developing.
“At the moment he is a bit further away than he and we would have liked. There has to be a lot more,” they quote coach Daniel Thioune as saying.
According to the newspaper, while the German U19 international still enjoys ‘the trust of the team’, unless there is a noticeable upward trend in the coming weeks that trust will be used up quickly.
It is therefore not out of the question that Düsseldorf will sit down with Watford and ‘break off the loan prematurely’.
