Watford striker Luis Suárez is featured on the front page of Portuguese newspaper Record today.
The reason for it is that Sporting are reportedly interested in the player, and will ‘advance’ for his signing very soon.
It’s said the Lions have been in touch with the Hornets, and were made aware that they can only buy a percentage of his rights so the transfer can be cheaper.
According to Record, Watford would accept to sell 60% of Luis Suárez for only €5m, and that’s seen by the newspaper as something pretty good.
Sporting still need to make some sales before confirming new signings, but the outlet claims that Suárez’ arrival has already been ‘approved’ by club manager Rúben Amorin.
As for the player’s wish, the Lions are seen as a much better destination than Almería, the other club who have been negotiating for him.
That’s because he’d be fighting for a spot in European competitions in Lisbon, while the Spanish club are still playing the second division next year.
Suárez returned to Watford from a loan at Real Zaragoza this summer where he scored 19 goals and provided six assists last season.
