Watford, already spending a good amount during the transfer window, are still looking around the market five days before the 31st of August.
According to Alfredo Pedulla as an exclusive on his website, the Premier League side are after Inter Milan’s young attacking midfielder Pedro Delgado.
The 19-year-old, who represented Portugal during this summer’s U19 European Championships, seemed all set to be joining Benfica this summer, but the Italian journalist reports interest from Sporting CP, and a strong enquiry from Watford have put things on hold.
With Joao Mario apparently on his way from Sporting to Inter Milan in the coming days, the relationship between the two clubs is at a good stage right now, but there’s also the possibility that Walter Mazzarri and Watford’s money could turn a few heads.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens, but this is one we’ll be keeping an eye on in the coming days.
Could it be too little too late?
