Watford have reportedly made an offer for Reims left-back Hassane Kamara.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, the Hornets have made a first attempt to get the 25-year-old, but that shouldn’t be enough to take him to England.

It’s said the Ligue 1 club have been demanding €5.5m for the transfer, and the bid made by Watford was lower than that.

The Hornets aren’t the only club in the race for Kamara, since Lyon have also been ‘studying’ the possibility of signing him, the report says.

Watford’s interest in Ligue 1 players apparently isn’t something new, since Foot Mercato highlights that the club have also been interested in the Strasbourg midfielder Youssouf Fofana.

Now getting back to Kamara, it doesn’t seem like Reims are demanding a lot for the transfer, so in case the Hornets are really keen on getting him before the end of the January transfer window, it sounds like €5.5m will do the job.
