The Argentine press has been taken surprise on Thursday by claims saying Watford are attempting to sign the Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon.
All the websites seem to have the same story, which was first published by TyC Sports. Their headline says that the Hornets are ‘coming’ for the 23-year-old.
The outlet reports that Pavon is now on the Premier League club’s radar, and it’s claimed that Watford could make a bid ‘in the next few hours’, although the amount of this offer isn’t known.
TyC recalls that before the last World Cup, when Pavon was on top of his career, Boca Juniors put a US$50m price tag on him.
However, things changed a little since then, as he’s been recently benched. The player has four goals and three assists in 19 matches for Boca Juniors this season.
Given this one has come as something of a surprise, it will be interesting to see how this develops.
