Aged just 18, Alhassan Yusuf is taking the Swedish league by storm this season, shining every time he sets foot on the pitch for IFK Goteborg.

The Nigerian midfielder has started eight games from a possible 12 this season, and his performances have caught the attention of a number of clubs around Europe, including Watford.

According to SCORENigeria, the Hornets were accompanied by scouts from Ajax, Barcelona, Genk, Feyenoord, Genoa, Anderlecht and Bayer Leverkusen, all there to watch Yusuf.

Their presence was noticed during his team’s 3-0 victory over AIK Solna back in April, during which the youngster played the full 90 minutes.

Not much information is given beyond that other than the fact Yusuf is highly rated in Sweden, widely seen as one of the most exciting talents the league has to offer these days alongside teammate Benjamin Nygren.

Whether Watford act on this scouting remains to be seen, but if they do, we’ll try and keep you up to date on it.
