Marseille have joined the long, long list of clubs to have looked at Watford striker Luis Suarez this summer.

That’s what Le 10 Sport report today, claiming that the French side’s search for a new striker has led them to Vicarage Road.

As you should be aware by now, Suarez spent last season on loan at Spanish second division side Real Zaragoza, scoring 17 goals in all competitions.

His impressive performances earned him admiring glances from around Europe, with clubs in Spain and Italy thought to be keen on signing him from Watford.

As yet no move has happened, and the Hornets have indicated that they plan on using the Colombian striker in the Championship next season.

However, it seems a new suitor has entered the fray with Le 10 stating that Marseille ‘recently looked’ at the striker and ‘came to inquire’ about his availability.

They wanted to know ‘all the financial terms’ of a possible deal, but the website does not make clear what the Hornet’s response to that was.

They do, however, state that at first glance, there is ‘little chance’ of Marseille making any ‘concrete progress’ as the striker would be complicated for them from a financial perspective.

Still, it seems the interest is there, and this could be a rumour that we hear more from in the coming weeks if their search for a striker continues to be fruitless.
