Bought for a lot of money (£7m) by Watford as a 19-year-old in 2015, Obbi Oulare get many chances with the Premier League club under Quique Sanchez Flores.

Currently on loan at Zulte Waregem in Belgium, the youngster only made three appearances for Watford last year, and was sent back to his home country for the 2016-17 campaign in order to get the game time he wouldn’t receive under Walter Mazzarri.

Scoring his first goal for the Jupiler Pro League leaders at the weekend in a 35 minute cameo, Oulare spoke to Walfoot after the game and gave an update on his situation.

He said: “It’s the first time that a club puts everything in place to get the best out of me. At Bruges, we played three times a week. It was therefore a bit trickier, just like at Watford, which is a big club.

“Here, the doctor and the physios take their time with me. They really want me to do well, it’s good for more. Physically, I’m perfect, I just need to get my match instincts. I have them at training.”

This will be good news for Watford, who will have sent the youngster to Zulte Waregem for that exact reason, and who will hope to regain a player ready to fight for a spot in the first-team next season.

Despite scoring his first goal, the 20-year-old is yet to start a game for the Belgian side, making eight appearances altogether.
