According to a claim in the Italian media, Watford are in the race to sign AS Roma attacker Gregoire Defrel.
The Frenchman only joined the ChampionsLeague semi-finalists last summer, but his debut season with the Serie A club has been hampered by injury.
TMW report Watford in the past few days have taken an interest in Defrel and the former Sassuolo player is an option for the Premier League side in this transfer window.
Roma could be looking to offload the 26 year old this summer and would be hoping to sell him outright for €15m. Watford should expect to face competition from La Liga side Sevilla.
Defrel has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past after West Ham and Leicester City interest in the player last summer.
It seems the Hornets are keen to bolster their attacking options for next season and only yesterday they were linked with Mahmoud Hassan a.k.a Trezeguet.
It was claimed Watford have tabled a bid of €6m for the Kasimpasa winger.
