Leicester City midfielder Adrien Silva and Watford’s Etienne Capoue are waiting on Valencia to finalise their potential moves to the club.
Both players have been linked with a switch to Spain this summer, with new Valencia boss Javi Gracia keen to add a central midfielder to his squad.
That has led to links to both, particularly to Capoue, who of course worked with Gracia during his time at Watford.
Super Deporte cover the situation today and explain that both are targets, but their moves are yet to be pushed through.
The Spanish boss has likewise made it clear that his former midfielder ‘is his man’, viewing him as the ideal player to sit in front of the defence.
Thus a move seems likely, but that doesn’t rule out a deal for Silva either as he is also a player that fits and could play further forward.
He had seemed destined to join former Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri at Sampdoria, but that has ‘slowed down’, and Valencia is more to his liking.
Leicester have made it clear he’s not part of their plans, and despite costing €20m they are only thinking of ‘getting rid’ of his wages off their books, suggesting they are happy to let him go on a free.
It is because of that the move to Valencia is a possibility, with the Spanish side looking at low-cost options amid a vast cost-cutting exercise at the club this summer.
There’s no mention of impending moves from the newspaper, but Super do make clear that the rumours of interest in both are true and each player is keen to make the move happen.
