Fiorentina are eyeing a move for Watford midfielder Ken Sema as they look to bolster their squad this summer.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who say the Italian side have Sema on their shortlist of potential targets after finalising a contract renewal for Cristiano Biraghi.
That deal has taken a chunk out of the Italian side’s finances but will not limit them in the transfer window, and the club are determined to find an alternative to Pol Lirola and the aforementioned Biraghi.
Watford’s Sema, who can play on either wing, fits the bill and is on a shortlist of two players, alongside Leonardo Spinazzola, who the club are looking at.
The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at Udinese, making 33 appearances in all competitions, managing just two goals and one assist.
He’s since returned to Watford, but it’s unknown whether he will be remaining at Vicarage Road, with the club undergoing something of a clear out following their relegation from the Premier League last season.
All indications are he will not be wanted given he has managed just 22 appearances for the Hornets since joining in 2018 and Fiorentina are now willing to take him away.
Corriere state that they are ‘working’ on a deal for him and using their ‘good relations’ with Watford to try and push things along but will try to close a deal ‘as soon as possible’.
However, it is stated that they are negotiating for Sema and Spinazzola at the same time, suggesting this deal is one that will be dependant on which club offers the better price.
