Watford are linked today to Inter Milan midfielder Roberto Gagliardini.
The rumour, which comes from FC Inter News, sounds a little complicated and confusing at first, as it depends on the will of several parties.
It all starts with Ivan Perisic. With the possibility of the player’s departure by the end of the transfer window, the Nerazzurri want a replacement as soon as possible, and would anticipate the arrival of Rodrigo de Paul from Udinese.
And sources from Udinese would be talking about the inclusion of Robero Gagliardini in the deal. However, instead of moving the player to Udine, the Pozzo family would actually send him to Watford in the Premier League.
Inter News writes that Gagliardini is currently worth €20m, and Inter would make €15m cash with the move, although it’s not mentioned how much would they spend to bring De Paul earlier. Or maybe the €5m left could be a discount?
Still, Gino Pozzo ‘would not be satisfied with the solution’.
Whatever that means, it sounds like the Hornets would not be keen on paying that much for Gagliardini.
