Since signing for Watford under rather suspicious circumstances via Mogi Bayat, Obbi Oulare’s time at Vicarage Road has hardly been smooth sailing.

Making just three appearances for the Hornets in three years, the young Belgian has spent most of his time out on loan, including this season, sent out to Standard Liège to get some minutes.

However, it was a bit different this time around, as he arrived at his new club off the back of a very serious knee injury, meaning last weekend was the first time he’d set foot on a football pitch this season.

Coming off the bench for the final two minutes of a 3-0 win against Eupen, Oulare’s return to football this month came as a surprise, as explained by Sport/Foot Magazine on Wednesday.

They state his manager wasn’t expecting the forward back before the end of the year, and having him now is a welcome addition, even if he’s not going to rush him back.

Loaned with an option to buy, Oulare is aware he needs to make up lost time, which is why he’s working ‘twice as hard’ to convince his club to potentially make the move permanent come the end of the season.

It seems his time at Watford is over, considering they never really seemed interested in the first place, and it’s now up to him to earn himself a transfer now that he’s back from injury.
