One of the first transfer stories to emerge following Claudio Ranieri’s appointment as Slavisa Jokanovic’s replacement at Fulham was his alleged interest in Stefano Okaka.

Having already managed the Watford striker when he was at Roma, the Italian manager was said to be keen to help the 29-year-old relaunch a career that has strongly stagnated at Vicarage Road.

Talk of a January move was touted, but nothing appears to have come from it just yet, but that doesn’t mean Okaka isn’t looking for a move away from the Hornets as soon as possible.

Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, the player’s agent, who also happens to be his brother, explained the forward’s situation, and what the future held for him.

He said: “Last year, we have three offers from Galatasaray, Fulham and Sevilla. One of them was close, but there wasn’t enough time for the deal to go through. This year, we are going to work early to find a solution. He’s definitely looking for a project he’d be at the centre of. He has clear ideas on what he wants”.

Since joining Watford from Anderlecht back in 2016, Okaka has only made 38 appearances, scoring five goals along the way.

Plagued by injuries, his time there should be coming to an end relatively soon, but his agent was keen to make it clear the Italy international is now physically fit, having ‘perfectly recovered’ from his last setback.
