It’s been no surprise to see Watford named on the scouting lists of Portuguese league games, and the Hornets have done it again this Sunday.

As reported by newspaper Record, the Premier League side were one of the clubs who had emissaries in the ‘Derby Portuense’ between Boavista and Porto.

The Dragons won the game 1-0, with a goal scored by Brazilian left-back Alex Telles. But apart from that, no one from their side really had a brilliant performance.

Boavista put in a lot of effort for a better result, with great displays from defender Ricardo Costa and midfielder Rafael Costa, but that wasn’t enough to avoid the loss to their city rivals.

Watford haven’t been linked to any Boavista or Porto players lately, and since Record doesn’t say who the Hornets were watching, it’s hard to guess who could have caught some attention in this particular match.

The Premier League side have been scouting several games in Portugal, so perhaps they’re just waiting to see if an interesting player pops up.

Watford have watched Porto repeatedly recently so there’s a chance a plan is formulating.

This game also had the presence of scouts from Alavés, Genoa, Marseille, Manchester United and Southampton.
