Watford will have to fight to keep Adalberto Peñaranda in the squad for the next season. According to Diario Gol, the player wants to stay in Spain, and his agent is already working to keep him there.
Peñaranda signed for Watford from Udinese in January for £9m, but spent the last six months on loan at Granada.
Although the contract meant he’d have another season at the Spanish side, reports from Spain said Watford wanted the player to join the club this summer, so he could part of their pre-season.
But going to the Premier League isn’t in Peñaranda’s plans, as he wants to keep developing in Spain. That’s why his agent has started offering him to a few clubs.
Their intention would be to join Real Madrid or Barcelona, isn’t everyone’s.
Diario Gol claims that Barça are interested on the signing, and the 19-year-old would be the fourth man to the MSN attacking trio.
But there’s also a plan b, which is being already executed. Besides Granada, the player is being offered to the likes of Villareal, Sevilla and Espanyol, as he believes he’d have more game time at these sides.
It’s weird how Peñaranda didn’t even play for Watford but already wants to leave the club. Maybe he needs to talk with the board, so he and his agent can be reminded they’ve signed a four and a half year contract not so long ago.
