According to Turkish newspaper Takvim, Watford are interested in Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup ahead of the January transfer window.
The former Arsenal player was linked with a return to the Premier League a couple of seasons ago, but he’s since struggled for form with his club and country.
It’s claimed the 27 year old is looking to leave Besiktas in January in order to get regular first team football, and Takvim say Watford are expected to make an offer to sign him.
Along with Watford, it’s reported Krasnodar are also following the player’s situation at Besiktas and the Premier League club may need to beat the Russian side to land him.
Watford are currently sitting bottom in the league table, and reinforcements in January could be key to maintaining their status in the top flight for next season.
Ozyakup has made 12 appearances for Besiktas in all competitions this season and is under contract with the Super Lig side until June 2022. If he can’t get into Besiktas’ side then he’s hardly going to be the saviour Watford need.
