Having secured the services of Krzysztof PIatek from Genoa after offloading Gonzalo Higuain to Chelsea, Milan are now looking for someone to help assist the Polish wunderkind.

Yannick Carrasco, wanting to return from China, has been a named option this window, but another has emerged in recent days: Gerard Deulofeu.

We’ve already covered this story a fair bit, especially the fact Watford aren’t interested in loaning the Spaniard out for the second half of the season, yet it remains to be seen how badly Milan actually want him.

As things stand, no official contact has been made between the two sides, according to Corriere dello Sport, who explain all the Serie A side’s director of football, Leonardo, has done is ‘gather information’ via an ‘English intermediary’.

Corroborating other claims, they state the Hornets have done what Donald Trump has failed to do so far, which is ‘put up a wall’, ‘especially for the loan option’.

As for Deulofeu, the winger, who enjoyed his spell at Milan a couple of years ago, is said to be ‘trying to return’, but the road leading him there looks ‘tortuous’.

This looks like a very long shot for the Italians.
