Watford midfielder Matheus Santana is soon leaving the club on another loan, according to claims from Spain.
The news was broken by journalist Angel Garcia, who likes leaving ‘puzzles’ for his followers on Twitter. Following his tips, Solo Recre found out the midfielder is close to moving to Recreativo de Huelva on a loan deal, and should complete the transfer in the coming days.
Matheus Santana joined Watford back in 2017 in a move from Granada, but was never used by the Hornets in these three years.
He’s been involved in several loan spells with Spanish sides, first at UCAM Murcia, then at SD Ejea, and more lately at CD Don Benito. All of them are clubs from the second division.
Matheus Santana’s situation is very similar to a Brazilian of the same name at Watford. Matheus Aias was also signed from Granada back in 2017, and never used by the club either.
He was sent to Spain for four different loan spells in this period, and we wouldn’t be surprised to also see him going back to La Liga 2 this summer.
