Leganes’ interest in Watford right-back Marc Navarro isn’t anything new, dating back to January when the club wanted to bring the Spaniard in on a loan, only to be blocked by their inability to get rid of one of their other defenders, Juanfran (ironically, an ex-Hornets player).

However, with both the aforementioned culprit and Allan Nyom both heading back to Deportivo La Coruña and West Brom respectively now their loans are ended, the La Liga club find themselves with a real dearth in the position.

Marca already reported Leganes were looking at Navarro towards the end of May, talking about a potential permanent transfer, but nothing has really happened since.

AS provide an update on Monday, claiming the La Liga side have ‘sounded out’ the footballer, probably to try and find out his willingness for a deal, but that’s about it.

Leganes have yet to ‘step on the accelerator’ to get a deal done, meaning it’s all up in the air for Navarro, who knows his future is likely far away from Vicarage Road.

The 23-year-old only made two Premier League appearances last season under Javi Gracia, with both Daryl Janmaat and Kiko Femenia rotating for the role in his stead.
