According to reports in the Italian media, Napoli are closing in on Udinese goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis.

The Greek international was this morning linked with a last minute move to Watford, with reports a deal was also close for the Premier League side.

IL Mattino claim, via TMW, Napoli have an agreement to sign Karnezis before the deadline. The Serie A side have been linked with the Udinese player throughout the summer window, but a deal will depend on Rafael leaving the club.

The current Napoli No.2 has being receiving interest from other clubs in this window, with recent links to Newcastle United.

However, Watford are also keen to bring in Karnezis, as Marco Silva looks to sign a goalkeeper that can provide competition to his No.1 Heurelho Gomes.

Watford may feel they have the upper hand given Karnezis would be coming from Pozzo owned Udinese, but the player has a preference to remain in Serie A.
